Rafael enrolled in post-university studies in Sports at the Federal University in Sao Paulo in 2005, was invited to be an assistant professor at Paulista University in 2007, and became Associated Professor by 2009. He taught classes of physiotherapy assessment and semiology, orthopedics/trauma and anatomy. In 2011, he was granted the title of Orthopedics and Trauma Physiotherapist Specialist by the Brazilian Physiotherapy Association (AFB) and finished his Master of Science in Cell and Structural Biology with emphasis in anatomy in 2013. His area of research was muscle biology and healing properties. He also worked in a public facility in Brazil as a Physiotherapist after being approved in a public contest for the position and had just left the job when he moved to Canada.
Rafael has treated patients with stroke, Parkinson, TBI and other neurological syndromes. He also has great experience with treating the geriatric population and those with various chronic diseases. Rafael’s treatments include dry needling, mulligan, and isostretching (postural techniques). Additionally, his strong manual and educational skills provide the best experience and results for his clients. In his spare time, Rafael spends time with his family and stays active with sports such as soccer and biking.
